Ancient Civilization Theories Thread
What's a dravidian?
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
People of southern India and Sri Lanka prior to the influx of the "Aryans"

There were absolutely no advanced (by modern standards) ancient civilizations only a child or a woman would be stupid enough to believe that.
I am a subject matter expert on the vedas so ask away. There are two theories about their origin the one I believe is that they originated from southern India whereas the learned world class troll Hellfire Awaits belive they originated from the Balkans.
No one knows for sure and to be honest it doesnt matter, they are far more accurate than any of these semetic religions thats for sure.

^To add to that I am an expert on all ancient Near Eastern civs and can do the same for them. Feel free to ask questions.
Question for Vutu: It is easy to draw parallels between most Vedic Gods and Euro Pagan Gods, but one I have never seen is an equivalent for Vishnu. Is there a known link for Vishnu?

Without knowing much about Paganism Id have to go with Gaia my friend but Gaia was a female entity IRRC.
Both sustain. again IIRC there was a NASA scientist who was a follower of Gaia back in the 50's but I cant remember him drawing any parrallels or even mentioning Vishnu.
Whats your take on it?

Because Vishnu is so complex and has so many Avataras I think he was the result of a merging of many other gods. It would explain why there is no clear parallel.
