Not that much fun really. It certainly wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. I wouldn't recommend it, nor would I be interested in doing it again.
Believe it or not, benzos are a lot harder to get off of than coke or narcotics. When I was in Maple Cottage detox there were older ladies who had been on them for years and some of them had been in there for one or two months. I was told the record stay in that detox was one of those prescription drug ladies for over 100 days.
If your doctor ever gives you those, don't come back for seconds. It'd be a lot safer to drink yourself into a stupor.

I almost fell into that trap recently after my dad died.
I was not sleeping at all and was encouraged to start taking Ativans. They work so well but in less than a week I was already upping the dosage and panicking as the sun went down if I didn't have them.
A good friend told me emphatically get off them right away and I trusted him. Glad I bit that off early, sounds like it could have become something much worse.
Benzo withdrawl can be fatal. It's insane that they get prescribed.

I got it easily, at a walk-in clinic. Doctor saw me for all of 3 minutes, didn't ask me nothing just gave me prescription for Ativans.
When I ran out I went to another walk in clinic, different doctor, upped my dosage.
Easy peasy.
Super weird, in hindsight.
Ativans are strong.
What they do is criminal.
What they do is criminal.
Does addiction to faygotry count???!!!

I used to take them to come down from my coke binges but that wasn't the main problem for me, it was coke. I wasn't taking benzos regularly or anything. There was a lot of drug use in my work circles back then.
I just noticed how big of a problem that crap was for a lot people. Older women especially. Mothers Little Helper, it's probably been going on since the fifties. I can't believe Masato can just waltz into a walk in clinic and get them in 2024.
