What region? they certainly never penetrated South of the Decan plain.

The Kashmir region as you know full well. Indeed they never penetrated Southern India. We've talked about this before. However it would be silly to believe that there was no idealic exchanges taking place.

Alright. The Dravidians clearly influenced Northern Indian culture before the arrival of the Proto-Indo-Europeans. It stands to reason that the culture of southern India would be influenced by the north, post the arrival of the proto-indo-euros. No?

Im pretty sure what Som-Pong is saying is accepted fact. The PIE people had a great influence on Northwest India. Through thousands of years of cultural exchange some of that influence spread to the south.

I get that but the faith is an Indian one.

The faith is Indian at its core, but has incorporated elements from outside religions. This is by no means unique to India, the famous Greek Goddess Athena was actually incorporated into Greek religion from Libyan religion, where they worshiped the female diety Tanis(Hellenized as Athena). Same thing goes for Adonis(from Adonai, the Hebrew polite term to refer to YHWH).
