Yeah I didn't see any real beaches anywhere. It's possible they exist but I didn't see any on my route.

Next trip is thailand which has some decent beaches that put anything in europe to shame
Really has got to be islands though. Coastal beaches just don't compare. A friend of mine is in western png now and it looks glorious.
Yeah thats true in thailand and Fiji, Australian mainland beaches are spectacular
