RIP Alaska

My dog Alaska died the day before I went to Italy. Sudden illness.

Weird timing.

She was maybe 12 or 13, not quite sure.
A great dog.

She was getting old and a bit lonely I think as she aged, my daughter bought a puppy just over a year ago and they were best buds till the end. Now the puppy is grown but lost her best friend/mother

Sad stuff. She had a great life, she would get to run off leash in the forest here several times a week her whole life, sometimes every day. She would love hunting for squirrels and exploring those woods all year round. We would take her camping and to cottage rentals etc.

She was FAST, I tell you;













Here is 1 of only 2 times she caught a squirrel. She was so proud, and instinctively brought it right to me.






















This is the new dog. They were best friends for mabye a year and a half before Alaska died.

I don't consider small dogs to be real dogs. They behave too differently

Maybe I am being mean. There is 1 chihuahua in BC that I like.

I used to share that opinion. Had a few dogs and cats growing up. I like most animals.

I never learned to like cats. I was always allergic to them so stayed away, they always seemed snobby and rude to me but some people love em.

I bet cats can be lovely, but the whole dog is man's best friend thing has some truth to it. A good dog will give its life for you if you treat it well and create a bond.

Our new dog got stuck under the deck today, lol

If cats were bigger they'd kill you. They don't tend to get stuck though.
