We bought an existing franchise, already stacked with existing members, instructors, and a kickass manager.
If you are unfamiliar it's a really interesting worldwide franchise where you book group classes with instructors, all the moves are programmed with videos on TV's guiding you through with a clock etc. F45 HQ designs all the classes and videos and sends them to the locations to plug into their systems.
So far all the $$ is still going to the previous owner, lol but that's supposed to be switched over soon.
Crazy change, huge shift in my life.
I needed a change anyways, been doing the same job from home for 21 years.
I am prime mid life crisis lol so some new challenges feel good.
The main reason we did it is because AI is threatening my storyboard career. It's already destroyed my illustration career.
We got kids going off to college and can't afford to lose that part of our income so we had to make a move to pivot for a new source of income.
We researched all sorts of franchises for almost a full year before deciding to go with this one.
We put all our chips into this, big debt and no more savings lol it better work.
Lots to do! More than I imagined, but hopefully with time it can become a bit more passive income. That's the goal anyways
